Overview
A prepreg carbon fiber trunk lid for the BMW G87 M2, shaped to the M2 CS profile for an OEM-style look. It is laid up from prepreg carbon fiber, also known as dry carbon, and cured under heat and pressure in an autoclave, the same method behind OEM and motorsport parts. Two things are yours to choose: the Edition, how closely the shape is held, and the Finish, how the surface is done.
Edition
Production. Our established tooling for the M2 CS look. It has been in production long enough that the process is dialed in, and current delivery is about 3 to 4 days and still shortening.
1:1 Precision. Our latest tooling, cut to match the factory M2 CS part as closely as we can measure, with refined curvature and edge lines for the most factory-correct silhouette. It was introduced recently, so lead time is still longer, as demand is running ahead of what we can build. Same material and finishing standard as Production; the difference is in shape accuracy, not build quality.
Finish
Primer (Paint-Ready). A gray primer base, the same primer treatment as factory, ready to be painted in your color at a local shop for a precise match.
Gloss Carbon. A clear gloss coat that brings out the weave. Our standard finish, held to the best on the market.
Matte Carbon. A matte coat for an understated, non-reflective surface.
Concours (Mirror). Our show-grade finish, built up and leveled to a mirror depth meant to rival anything on a supercar. Built on request, with additional lead time. What the Concours Finish means.
OEM Paint (Full Color). Solid body color across the whole lid, painted to your BMW paint code for a finished, factory look.
OEM Paint (Carbon Stripe). Body color with a band of bare carbon left exposed and clear coated down the center, so the weave reads as a deliberate accent against your paint.
OEM Paint (Carbon Fade). Body color blended into exposed, clear coated carbon, a gradient that runs from paint into weave for a layered, custom look.
All three OEM Paint options are matched to your BMW paint code, which you provide after checkout. Prefer carbon left only on the two raised lines along the top, or another custom split? Choose any OEM Paint option and contact us with your request; it is priced the same as Full Color.
Fit and closing
A prepreg carbon fiber lid is lighter than the factory panel, which changes how the trunk closes, since the original gas struts are tuned to the heavier OEM lid. Every lid ships with a matched gas strut kit and the mounting hardware for a lightweight setup, so it opens and holds the way it should. It is a direct fit on the factory mounting points, reversible, with no trimming required.
M2 CS shape, not the M4 CSL ducktail
Search for an M2 CS trunk and most of what comes up is a CSL-style ducktail. That shape is the M4 CSL, adapted to the G87 by the aftermarket before the M2 CS even arrived, so the market is now full of it and of copies of it. The production M2 CS has its own ducktail, related to the CSL look but its own shape. This lid is built to that M2 CS shape, the part many owners come to us for because it is hard to find anywhere else. If you want your M2 to look like the M2 CS, this is the shape, not the M4 CSL one. M2 CS vs CSL, explained.
What is included

Engineered to fit from day one
Built from OEM geometry and on-car scans, refined through multiple prototype corrections, then produced with metal tooling and jigs that control mounting-hole positions, edges and curvature. Each batch undergoes dimensional sampling so parts leave the line aligned to factory contours—reducing install effort and eliminating product-caused fitment issues.
Finish standards: flatness first
Many can get the structure right; few invest to make the surface look truly premium. We spend on interlayer leveling, fine sanding, multi-coat clear coat and controlled curing: straight reflections under strong light, crisp weave definition, and long-term resistance to UV yellowing, hazing and cracking. That’s the visible difference.
Delivery & support: fast and worry-free
A specialist replies within 24 hours on weekdays. Every piece is dispatched after final inspection (QC) and reinforced packing, with end-to-end tracking; lead time varies by item and finish and is confirmed after purchase. Before dispatch, every unit receives a final inspection—jig-based mounting-hole/fit checks and bright-light surface review—to catch issues before they travel. If installation proves tricky, our engineering and support teams will assist, and any shipping issues are prioritized. Faster handoff and dependable service save you time and friction.

Precision in Every Layer
Every part ships with our standard finish: the weave filled and leveled by hand, then disciplined coats of UV-stable clear laid to a real thickness, already at or past the best on the market. For the large exterior panels, an optional Concours finish goes further, built up and leveled to a mirror depth meant to rival anything on a supercar. It is slow, costly, and built only on request. Standard or Concours, every piece carries the same obsession with fit, finish, and how it lasts.
FAQs
Please read our FAQs page to find out more.
Will this fit my exact model, trim, and year (LCI/Pre-LCI, M Sport vs. base)?
Yes—fitment follows OEM geometry. At checkout we require your vehicle details (model/year, trim, LCI/Pre-LCI, bumper type/photos) and perform a second verification. If your selection doesn’t match your vehicle, we’ll alert you before fulfillment to correct it.
What if I have aftermarket bumpers or prior bodywork?
Aftermarket bumpers and vehicles with prior collisions or repairs (even minor scrapes) can alter mounting geometry, which may cause installation difficulty. We’ve seen cases where a previous accident left the bumper deformed, making parts hard to seat—this is not a product defect. Please have your installer inspect mounting points before ordering.
Do I need to drill or cut?
Dry carbon: installs via factory mounting points; no drilling is generally required, except some rear wings that may require trunk drilling.
Wet carbon: due to process characteristics and possible deformation during transit or humidity changes, self-tapping screws may be needed to secure fitment.
Will the carbon tone match if I replace a single piece later?
Single-piece replacements are available. Minor batch-to-batch tone variance is normal; for perfect symmetry on L/R paired parts, replacing as a set is recommended. If you purchased from us and later damaged a part in a collision, send photos— we can usually offer a returning-customer discount on the replacement.
Will sensors, radar, PDC, and tow-hook access still work?
Some carbon grilles include pre-cut radar/PDC windows. Please review product photos carefully or provide OEM front-end photos before ordering. We typically re-confirm before shipment. If a misread leads to the wrong variant being ordered, exchanges are possible, but additional shipping costs may apply.
Can I choose gloss vs. matte or request specific finish options?
Standard is our multi-layer, UV-stable gloss clear. Matte and special finishes can be built to order; lead time will differ.
What’s included in the box? Will I need extra hardware or tape?
Each product page lists what’s included. Vehicle-specific clips/brackets are included when required; high-bond tape or fasteners are provided where applicable. If an item needs OE hardware reuse, we’ll state it clearly.
What happens if my item arrives damaged?
You’re covered. Contact us within 48 hours with photos of the outer box, inner packaging, labels, and the part. We’ll arrange a replacement or a fair resolution at no extra cost. Keep the packaging until we confirm next steps.
What payment methods do you accept? Is it secure?
We accept major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express and more) through Shopify Payments, plus Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal. All payments settle in USD through secure, PCI-compliant gateways with industry-standard encryption and fraud screening.
