Why ours costs more, and what to watch for
Most gear selector covers on the market are compression-molded. It is the cheap way to make this part, and it leaves a seam where the two halves of the mold meet, visible on the finished shell. The usual answer from the makers is that they all come out that way. We photographed a batch like that and refused to sell it. The cover we sell is hot-press molded instead. It costs more to make, and that is the difference you are paying for. If you are comparing covers, look at the seam line along the side of the shell before you buy.

Each shell mounts over the factory selector with the pre applied 3M adhesive. Adhesive trim holds by its bond: in hot climates, long direct sun through the glass can loosen adhesive edges over time. Interior pieces see far less of that stress than exterior stick-on parts. We say it upfront.
