Wrapped Seat Side Trim

The one panel most builds forget. Your factory seat side trim is hard black plastic, sitting right where your hand rests and your leg brushes past on the way out. We wrap it in genuine Alcantara and Panel-Grade Nappa Microfiber with contrast stitching, finished to match the seats it sits against.

Genuine Alcantara, in the grade this panel calls for

We use genuine Alcantara in 9002 Charcoal Black, Panel specification. Alcantara is produced in two grades: Cover, the backed grade built for seat surfaces, and Panel, the single-layer unbacked grade made for hard trim, door cards and pillars. This part takes Panel. It is thin and elastic by design, so it follows the panel's compound curves and stays flat at the edges instead of lifting over a season.

Why there is no full-grain leather option here

Full-grain hide is too thick for this panel. Wrapped over these compound curves it lifts and puckers at the edges over time, no matter how well it is fitted. That is not a cost decision. Our upholsterer will not build it that way, and neither will we.

The same logic runs through the microfiber. Panel-Grade Nappa Microfiber is a thinner, more elastic grade than the seat-grade microfiber used on our bucket seats. Same family, different specification, each chosen for what it has to wrap. On a hard panel, the thinner grade is the correct one, and the thicker grade would be the mistake.

What gets wrapped

The outer trim panel on each front seat, the one carrying your seat adjustment switches, memory buttons and lumbar control, with the AIRBAG marking on the shoulder. Your switches and buttons work exactly as before. Sold as a pair, driver and passenger.

Two ways to order

• Wrapping only, with your seat order. Your new bucket seats already arrive with their side trim panels. We wrap those panels as part of the same build, so you are paying for the craft alone. The lowest way in.
• Complete panels supplied, standalone. We supply brand-new panels with the switch modules fitted, wrapped and ready to bolt straight on. Nothing comes off your car and nothing gets shipped to us.

Choosing your material

• Panel-Grade Nappa Microfiber. A polyurethane microfiber composite embossed with a fine Nappa grain, animal-free, in the thin elastic grade this panel calls for. Even grain, wraps tight to the curves. The clean baseline.
• Panel-Grade Nappa Microfiber and Alcantara (recommended). Microfiber on the outer wear face, Alcantara on the flat inner section. See the note below on why we build it this way.
• Full Alcantara. Alcantara across the whole panel, for interiors already built around it.

Hard-wearing where it rubs, Alcantara where you touch

The forward face of this panel takes the brush of your leg every time you get in and out of the car. Our recommended build puts the Nappa microfiber on that wear face and Alcantara on the flat inner section, so the panel holds its finish where it takes contact and keeps its texture where your hand falls. This is the build our upholsterer recommends, and it is a durability call rather than a cost one.
