Audi RS Bucket Seat Heating + Ventilation Retrofit Module

OEM-grade heating and ventilation retrofit kit for Audi vehicles that did not come equipped with these features from the factory. Compatible with our front Conversion Kit, our complete Bucket Seats (Sport or Carbon), or your existing OEM Audi front seats.

Note: This kit is intended for Audi vehicles that did not come equipped with factory heating or ventilation. If your vehicle already has these functions from the factory, you do not need this kit.

Important: VCDS or OBDeleven Coding Required

This kit is not plug-and-play. After physical installation, your installer must perform coding via VCDS or OBDeleven on Module 09 (Central Electronics) and related modules to activate fan and heater stages in your MMI. Coding requirements vary by vehicle model and year. We provide a coding reference for your configuration, but the actual coding work must be performed by an installer with VCDS or OBDeleven and Audi VAG experience. Without correct coding, the kit will not respond to controls and the MMI will not recognize the new functions.

Confirm before ordering, two things to verify with your installer:

They can handle Audi seat heating and ventilation retrofit coding via VCDS or OBDeleven.
If you select Ventilation Only or Heating + Ventilation Both, your seat upholstery is already perforated, or your installer is equipped to perform perforation work. Heating elements work with any upholstery, but ventilation airflow requires perforation in the leather or microfiber covering the seat.

This kit contains all the physical components required to add heating, ventilation, or both functions to a front pair of Audi seats:

Center Console Button Kit Add-on (+$149)

Audi center console climate panels vary by model and year. If your existing center console panel does not have seat heating or ventilation buttons, add the Button Kit option (+$149) to receive a model-matched replacement panel. Available for the following Audi model groups:

Vehicle Compatibility

Confirmed compatible with Audi A4L, A5, A6L, A7, Q5L, Q7, Q8, and other models sharing the same seat architecture and electrical platform. If your model is not listed, contact us with your vehicle model, year, and VIN for compatibility verification before ordering.

Installation Notes

This is a moderately complex retrofit. Your installer will need to:

Remove existing seat covers and foam (only if you are modifying your current vehicle's existing seats. If you are also purchasing our Conversion Kit, this step is integrated into the Kit installation process).
Layer the ventilation foam pad and airflow guide from the kit on top of the existing cushion foam.
Cut perforation holes in leather or microfiber covers if not already perforated. Heating-only configurations do not require perforation.
Install fan units or heating elements and route the dedicated harness through the seat to the OEM power supply.
Replace the center console button panel if the Button Kit add-on is selected.
Perform VCDS or OBDeleven coding on Module 09 and related modules to activate the new functions.

A complete H+V install with coding typically takes 2 to 5 hours of installer labor, depending on installer experience. CarbonXtreme does not cover installer labor costs.

Will these actually fit my Audi?

Nearly all Audi factory seats and models are covered; see the compatibility list in the description. Share your model, year and a few photos of your current seats, and we confirm fitment before production starts, on whichever channel you reached us on. Two things we always check: your car's option level, which determines how much electrical transfer is involved, and the seat airbag design. Select 2026 and later RS models use a new dual-airbag seat, so note your exact model and year in the order notes and we confirm compatibility before production begins.

Other sellers say plug-and-play. Why do you not?

Because Audi builds these platforms with five different crash sensors, four different illuminated seat belt buckles, and several versions of the heating connector and the wireless control module. No seat can ship pre-fitted for every combination, so the version-specific parts remain with your car by design: the sensor harness moves across as one assembly, the heating connector usually plugs straight in, three ventilation wires are seated to match your car's layout, and the wireless control module transfers if your car has one. None of it requires special skills, only care. Depending on your option level, the full job runs from about half an hour to two or three hours.

What does my installer need to do?

Remove the factory seats, transfer four connectors, and mount the new seats. The sensor harness, together with the seat belt receptacle, occupancy sensor and crash sensor, moves across as a single assembly on every car. The heating connector usually plugs in and works; in a small number of cases the wires re-seat into your original connector. Three ventilation wires are left unconnected on purpose and are seated to match your car's layout. If your car has a wireless control module, it transfers with its harness. No cutting, no splicing. Because the car keeps its own original electronics, post-install coding is generally not required; certain configurations may need a VCDS or OBD11 reset, and we flag this during pre-production if it applies to your case.

How close will the stitching color match my OEM interior?

We source thread from Audi's OEM supplier and match your specification as closely as possible. Exact matching cannot be guaranteed: thread comes in batches, and Audi's own production lines use different material batches across factories. In most cases the variation is not detectable in normal use. Please note we do not accept returns based on stitching-color deviation within the same color family. If you require 100% factory-correct color, order the Audi German OEM-Sourced upholstery tier.

Can I have ventilation with a suede or Alcantara center?

Yes. Perforation is what makes ventilation work, and it can be done on suede, Alcantara or leather, so your material and layout are not restricted by choosing ventilation. If you have seen perforated suede go white around the holes, that comes from the backing rather than the surface. Factory material is laminated to a white anti-crease cloth, and punching through it leaves white fibers around every hole. We rebuild the material and laminate it to a black backing, so the holes stay clean.

What if there is a workmanship issue after install?

If our assembly causes an issue revealed during or shortly after install, for example upholstery detaching or a component not fitted correctly, and you need a shop to address it within 14 days of install, we contribute toward the labor cost. Document the issue and contact us before proceeding with the shop work. This covers workmanship on our side; additional labor that results from an installer's lack of familiarity with the product is not covered, which is why we ask you to brief your installer before ordering.

Where does it ship from and will I owe import duties or taxes?

You do not pay import duties, import taxes, or customs clearance fees. We cover them on every shipping option. Due to the nature of these seats, components carrying Audi-branded elements (such as RS logo trim panels) may ship separately (no additional fee) for compliance reasons.

What happens after I place my order?

After your order, our team manually confirms every detail with you, including vehicle platform, factory functions, finish selection, and delivery address, and only then does production start. You stay on one communication channel with the same team from pre-sale through delivery.
